Manuel DelgadoThe director of the Girona Study Abroad Program at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Manuel Delgado is also the principal of the international team, which won the 2012 La Carlota Redevelopment Competition for one of the largest urban parcels in Latin America within Caracas, Venezuela. Prior to embarking upon his professional endeavors, he attained a Bachelor of Architecture from Universidad Central de Venezuela and a Master of Arts in building restoration from Churubusco Institute in Mexico. Upon his arrival to the United States, Mr. Delgado concluded his academic efforts with a Master of Arts in urban studies and planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2001.

Notably, Mr. Delgado is a frequent juror for international competitions and, for more than a decade, he has managed an international practice based on his earlier work from Caracas in Boston. The co-organizer of the 2008 and 2013 Designing for Life International Symposiums, he is a member on the board with Fenway Boston Area. Mr. Delgado initially began his affiliation in the architectural field in 1980, when he took many of his Venezuelan students on trips to study the architecture of Mexican cities.

In 2012, Mr. Delgado was awarded first prize as an architect in the Parque Verde Metropolitan Design Competition. In accounting for his success, he credits the considerable number of buildings he has contributed his architectural vision to. As his career progresses, Mr. Delgado aims to understand the aspirations of people and aspires to continue learning alongside his students.
